Not sure if this works as you have to ask how much energy is used in the process, but if the overall cost is reduced and supply can be created at the source versus transportation and storage of H2 this could be big. A long shot, but needed for the future. Let us not forget, Specifically, Plug Power has revolutionized the material handling industry with cost-effective power solutions that increase productivity, lower operating costs and reduce carbon footprints. Plug Power’s GenDrive® fuel cell is a superior alternative to lead-acid batteries for electric lift trucks in the $20 billion global material handling market. While not sure how addressable the total market is we have just barely scratched the surface. This will be a long game over generations which few of us will be around to see the winner. Heck, the winner might not even be developed yet as far as we know.
