I wanted to do about the same holding several million of a no bid quad. they said no transfer and without some cash in the account it could dissolve depending on DDC or TA status. I left $200 cash in there and checked on it infrequently...
It did move up after a year or so and did well.
Leave the account open and the cussip number will hold the shares in your name.
No broker wants to close ANY account NEVER.
