The only connection here is an interest in making a deal with LEXG to benefit both companies by spinning off a LEXG subsidiary as a separate company. Why shouldn't they have been interested in making such a deal. Ultimately it didn't get done but it would be natural and perfectly legitimate for ALYI to explore the possibility, which they did.
