Some hemp news from Kentucky

A student I taught in high school, and his young son, have grown 30 acres of hemp on their farm which is located just down the road from me. They were featured in our local paper.

They just sold this year's crop, which was their first. This is a 4th generation farming family that is known for their dairy operation, and raising corn, soybean and wheat. For their hemp efforts, they received $5,600 per acre. That's FIVE times what we used to make with our tobacco crops!

Also, THREE new hemp processing facilities are being built, or are already in operation right here in my back yard. They are located in strategic areas to serve 10 surrounding counties that are known for having major grain producing farms. Where I live is the hub for nearly 15 counties that have produce needing to go to market.

I can drive to all three of these hemp processing plants in less than 30 minutes. It's raining here right now, but either this afternoon or sometime this week, I plan on visiting my neighbor to look at his operation and just have a 'curiosity talk', and remind him he didn't turn in his History homework in 1981!!! :)

With so many farms and businesses now associated with the hemp industry, Congress just HAS to help them survive and get this CBD thing resolved. This is a major, major agricultural shift and it should be supported by the government!!!

My neighbor, US Senator Rand Paul, bought himself a 100% hemp made shirt and he's been wearing it around town.
