DEW ...re AMRN
I noticed your tweet on the subject which was funny ...yes , some get carried away .

But seriously I would like to know your views on AMRN and Vascepa and why you don't have a position at these levels $14 ...5 wks before Adcom .

I am a CAD patient with an inherited lipid disorder HeFH ...and have been on all the different CV risk reducing drugs developed since 1987 ...at max doses.
I'm currently on Repatha ( sub Q injectable ) , low dose Statin Crestor ( I cramp at higher doses ) Zetia and now Vascepa .

Vascepa has to be the easiest drug I've ever taken to reduce the risk of an MI ... common on the male side of my family .

Don't you accept the R-IT results ...think the mineral oil placebo interfered with the statin thus over stated the benefits ?. If so IMHO interference was likely minimal. Even Dr Nissen ( Cleveland Clinic ) acknowledges that .

You don't think there will be a market for Vascepa ? I already have moderate risk Medicare friends who refuse to take statins .....asking me if I think they can get a Vascepa script without the Statin script. And this is before Direct To Consumer marketing.

My Vascepa script came from my Kaiser Cardiologist . Kaiser has been extremely reluctant to prescribe Vascepa for CAD patients until they see the FDA label ...but after much prodding and forcing my Cardiologist to review all the data ...he wrote an " off label " script for me.

There are 40 m patients on Statins in the US and many more ...like yourself I believe ...who should be on one but can't tolerate them ( you mentioned your statin intolerance some time back ).

So my question for you .....if you have moderate CV risk and should be on a Statin ...why wouldn't you take Vascepa as well ...or if statin intolerant ...instead .
Vascepa comes in half gm capsules as well ...they go down easily with some Kefir .

Appreciate your opinion
