No doubt in my mind the new M&A guy helps them acquire other food businesses - that goes without saying. But i think he's here to help them acquire a logistics/distribution network that is technology focused to help with the intricacies of meeting what they believe to be their upcoming demand.
As an example -- google Freightos or flexport
If anyone is having a hard time understanding what I am envisioning, go google a map of Wal-Mart's distribution network and/or stores. You will see how interconnected all of their locations are in a million different locations.
If the end goal is to service Wal-Mart, Costco, Sams Club, 7/11 etc etc etc in the USA, Middle East etc....it is not going to be possible to do this via 1 or 2 logistics people and paper...NOT HAPPENING. 1 google search and/or look into Wal-Mart's footprint will lead you to this conclusion, then factor in all the other stores and their locations that we are trying to get into as well.
