If it was just Josh putting out updates every few months I can understand why people would be pessimistic. There are a team of people working for this company now. It wouldn't make much sense for all of them to spend these past months working if they didn't think there would be beneficial results in the future. I doubt they are in it just so they can get free sandwiches at conventions like some people seem to think. It took all this time for the merger to go through. If there was nothing happening at these conventions I think the merger would have been aborted, they had plenty of time make that decision. It seems like they believe in what they are doing.
