Good analogy. When I was younger, I had a friend who was really good at pool. He had tremendous control of ‘english’ and what it does both to the cue ball and the object ball. He could put that cue pretty much anywhere he wanted to. But rather than run the table, which he could easily do, he’d allow the opponent to think they actually had a chance. You always felt like he just barely beat you, which kept you at the table. Occasionally he even lost, but not because he lacked the skill to beat you, but rather because he gave you too much of a chance. You’d better cherish that win, and hold on to those ‘gains’. “Rack ‘em!” Lol
