That means FNMA is worth 5.45 per share BUT ONLY until next quarter, when we get to keep those dividends also. And the next quarter...up to 25 billion.
25 billion divided by 1.1 billion shares equals $22 per share.
We should reach that, at present earnings, in about a year.
However, some people dont think the "net worth swipe" which allows FNMA to "only" keep 25 billion is illegal. We could know more about THAT on Oct. 11.
This brings fannie shares to be worth 22-100 dollars per share (since they are 200 billion undervalued because the market thinks that we still owe 200 billion to the govenernment.
