Speaking of tires....

DR. MATTHAN AND OCSiAl

Ranjit K. Matthan, Ph.D.
Ranjit K. Matthan, Ph.D., Vystar head of research and development for Vytex® rubber latex commercial and raw materials, will oversee multiple new initiatives, including R&D for the development of deproteinized dry rubber.

“Under Dr. Matthan’s direction, and with the research team HE HAS ASSEMBLED, we believe there is a tremendous opportunity for the development of a new class of deproteinized dry rubber that may exhibit superior characteristics that could be disruptive for the dry rubber industry,” stated Steve Rotman, CEO of Vystar.
In this expanded role, he will steer R&D for the development of deproteinized dry rubber, which has potential for use in the US$227 billion global automotive tire market, as well as continue development of custom formulations for specific applications for Vytex deproteinized latex. Vystar has also contracted with Polymer Consultancy Services PLC (P) Ltd. (“PSC”) for execution of specific related R&D activities under the direction of Dr. Matthan.

The Government of India has appointed Dr Ranjith K Matthan, Director of Polymer Consultancy Services (P) Ltd, as the new President of Indian Rubber Manufacturers Research Association (IRMRA), effective from January 2019 .

Dr Ranjit Matthan is a well-known international expert on Rubber Technology. He has been associated with IRMRA for more than 35 years as a member of its Governing Council and Research Advisory Committee.

Reduce Carbon Black with nanotubes - Incorporating Single Walled Carbon Nano Tubes (SWCNT) at the latex stage allows for reducing carbon black usage

By weight, the tread compounds of a conventional tires contain about 28 percent natural rubber, which comes from latex sap, 28 percent synthetic rubber, which is made from oil, and 28 percent carbon black filler—a sootlike reinforcing agent that is produced by partially burning fossil fuels.

In the same way, we see that NRL can be a vehicle to introduce it into the tire industry, b/c the properties that it can gives are good and it is an naturally sustainable material, We have a program, I have already one that with which I’m aleady associated with, the Indian Rubber Manufacturer Research Association. We have a state of the art tire testing facility, we test tires from all the major tire companies, MICHELIN, GOODYEAR, BRIDGESTONE. They are all interested in getting treads and sidewalls ______, with CNT incorporated so that study the conductive properties, noise properties, heat dissipation properties…have a tremendous impact of the wear and the grip characteristics of the tires. We see that as a further step in this process.
