Actually, I think the official term is "Qualified Investor". They can be "qualified" either by experience, professional advisors, or sufficient income or assets to withstand the loss of their entire investment. Usually, the first two criteria result in the third one.

That means they have the knowledge and experience (or professional advice) to understand the risks as well as the rewards in long-term investing.

By the way, the information discussed at the party was only "news" to those who hadn't seen that morning's PR, and I sincerely doubt anyone there hadn't read it yet.

Oh yeah, there was one item that wasn't in the PR - it's a long, long drive from Caborca to Reno.
