Anheuser-Busch plays up hard seltzer trend

Anheuser-Busch (BUD +0.7%) is the buyer of the first college hard seltzer sponsorship, according to Action Network's Darren Rovell.

He reports that Natty Light Seltzer is now the Official Hard Seltzer of the Big 12 Conference.

Anheuser-Busch and other alcohol producers are benefiting from strong demand for hard seltzer, which has helped to make up for a slump in traditional beer demand with younger consumers.

U.S. sales of spiked seltzer have soared almost 200% this year, according to Nielsen data.
