Correct analysis. Focus should always be on earnings not share price. Share price is a result of what investors felt about the earnings the company achieved or failed to achieve. A lot of effort to take investors eyes off the lack of company earnings! Management actually was given that same $20 million to invest in creating a profit producing enterprise.
