there were likely many- just none that are visible on the retail side of L2

over half the trades on any given day in BAC are routed as hidden. and yes it's legal- anyone can place a buy or sell order with the 'hidden' flag, and the MM will not show it as part of the bid or ask on L2. most retail brokers don't give that option in their trading screens/apps.
