My DD took a few weeks, but I came up with this conclusion. Methanol is a better additive than Ethanol in many ways.
First - Ethanol is made from feed corn and it takes 1000 gal. of water (Irrigation) to produce a gallon of Ethanol. Methanol is made from Natural Gas and takes about 1 gallon of water to make a gallon of Methanol.
Second - Methanol is a more powerful additive and when mixed with Gasoline it increases gas millage of the fuel.Ethanol has the reverse effect - it decreases millage.
Third - Methanol & Ethanol prices do fluctuate - but Methanol seems to be about 30 cents cheaper per gallon. (Methanol spot is $1.03 and Ethanol spot is $1.37 per gallon)
Fourth - Lower Carbon emissions Plain & Simple - What is the cleanest fossil fuel? Natural gas, composed primarily of methane, is the cleanest of all fossil fuels, producing only carbon dioxide and water vapor when it is burned. Coal and oil produce higher levels of harmful emissions, including nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide when burned. (Ethanol stands for Ethyl Alcohol, which signifies that the Carbon skeleton is made of two Carbon atoms, whereas methanol stands for Methyl Alcohol, which signifies that the Carbon skeleton is made of one Carbon atom only. This is the main difference between Ethanol and Methanol.)

Conclusion:

Why you need to keep a close eye on this company?
Big Oil has been a victim of Agricultural Lobbyists for decades now. They have been toting Ethanol as a necessary additive to cost effectively expand the US Gas supply and lower Greenhouse emissions. They have successfully taken 10% of the gasoline fuel market away from Big Oil which amounts to Trillions of dollars over the years in lost Big Oil Revenue. What if someone invented an additive that was better than Ethanol that could bring control of the 10% market Big Oil lost - back to Big Oil's control in the form of Natural Gas??
What would an additive like that be worth?
Bingo - your looking at that company right now!
