With a .23-.24 difference (the last time I checked) why not sell Fannie then buy Freddie and pocket the difference? They both rise and fall at about the same pace. Hang on patiently to Freddie till they get within pennies of one another again (it happens a few times a year) then buy Fannie back and watch the spread happen all over again. I've earned over half my shares by doing that over the past 6 years. And it's better than subjecting yourself to margin calls.
