Not according to Etrade in which I called and asked twice. then many in my group followed. Etrade clearly stated Cash Accounts in there platform shares cannot be borrowed against. In Other words Shorted and of course you could not short shares even if you had a large all cash account as well. So unless 15 people on Etrade or incorrect I will take there word on it. because my group got the same answer.

So again people call for yourself and go cash and if you get a different response please get the parties first name and I would call back to confirm.
