They might be the biggest short as well. It wont matter because any new drilling for oil wont affect NG supply between now and the Its Gonna Be A Long Cold Winter Rally. You can drill all you want but if you have nowhere to store it you just flare it or DUC. Most likely senario is US oil industry will take a wait n see what happens vs knee jerk from a bump in crude prices

I worked the oil boom in the early 80s in the Rocky Mt Region. In North Dakota they flared most of the NG. I was on a rig one night when the rough necks were bored. They would shut off the flare then release a bunch of gas into the air then hit the ignite button and light a massive flare 100s of feet into the air. We just laughed our asses off. If you drove across very sparsely populated (400k) Wyoming in the early 80s at night the sky was lit up from all the rigs flaring NG.
