SLJB has purchase quite a bit of property on Lake Erie that was full of shacks or old cottages. The plan is to redevelop this property with upscale cottages, condos, or homes. They also bought the bar, which right now is a biker bar. The plan is to dose this and build an upscale restaurant that will allow the local winemakers a place to show off their wine. Colchester on Lake Erie is perfect for a vacation area and many vacation there now. The cottages are very substandard. I have some pictures I will send if anyone is interested. There are some very nice homes in the area as well. I could see this as a bedroom community as well as a vacation area, due to its close proximity to the highly populated Windsor (30 minutes) I suspect that the idea is a good one. I also suspect that the reason for the article in the Windsor Star is because of this redevelopment plan. The locals are not happy about it and neither are the politicians that were not involved in the plan. If SLJB pulls this off and does the redevelopment I would assume they would make millions.
