A major story in Kentucky newspapers this week about Sen. McConnell and the hemp industry. This is my rehash.

Right now, hemp is being grown in 101 of Kentucky's 120 counties. This year's crop is estimated to be worth over $100 Million. McConnell also had a sit-down with the FDA Commissioner and his staff in McConnell's office where he pushed them to quickly resolve FDA issues with CBD oil. He got them to come to HIM! I like that!

He also explained the intent of Congress in legalizing hemp and urged the FDA Commissioner to work with him to provide certainty to producers across the country exploring hemp's potential in health and food products.

"McConnell visited in Lexington, the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture's research and teaching farm, where talented researchers are pushing the limits of what this plant can do. Their experimental trials aim to improve the crop's viaibility and develop the best practices for farming superior quality hemp."

"At Commonwealth Extracts, a Louisville processing facility, McConnell witnessed the production of hemp-derived CBD products up close. Through a similar process as creating Kentucky Bourbon through its distillation, this facility taps into hemp's natural qualities for use in a whole range of health and wellness products. Although the 2018 Farm bill removed CBD and other hemp-derived products from the controlled substances list, CBD processors and manufacturers still operate in a regulatory gray area without guidance from the FDA"

McConnell is also working on improving the credit card and banking problems with CBD.

I wonder who the company is in Louisville that is providing CBD oil to other oompanies to sell?
