my post of this morning was taken down so I will repost the gist of it.

In response to IB_, I said that although I thought his response to my post in which I said that I thought the likelihood was that the shorts were stuck with a very large short position that they couldn't get out of and that explained why they were continuing to short, IB_ said that it could also be that they were trying to accumulate shares cheaper. He also suggested there was the possibility that the shorts knew something we didn't. We both thought the second was less likely; for my part because if that was the case, they wouldn't want to bring the price down, but up so they could short more higher.

I said that I thought he may have had a point until I read some of the all caps posts that were posted this morning. To me those indicated an urgency on the part of the poster, perhaps a fear, that would not be consistent with either a confidence that he or she knew something or that he or she was merely attempting to accumulate more shares. Fear generates greater emotion than greed, as we all know.
