$VRUS E*Trade update from Mark (email to fellow long) :

It has only been a few days since I escalated this. This would appear to be 100% internal to E*Trade, a business decision based on a mystery. I was both a mutual fund and hedge fund manager in the past, so I know better than most the importance of a liquid and efficient market. E*Trade has definitely handicapped the VRUS trading environment with their actions. If this is the kind of thing that E*Trade has planned as a policy on OTC stocks, they are going to lose an enormous amount of business from the best kind of customer they covet -- high-frequency traders.
