I call them tidal stocks, rising and falling with the tide of sentiment which hasn't been good lately with Canopy canning Linton, Tilray, Canntrust! The tide will turn for serious well equipped companies and Acreage is a force in the US. They have been on the acquisition trail, much like Canopy, picking up pieces of their puzzle and have done enough to catch a deal with Canopy.
Investors in the greenrush are riding waves of fear and greed right now which leaves us with the question of where are you going to invest your money and well established companies have appeal over flash in the pan companies like recycled mining failures trying to save their listings by announcing entry into the marijuana business.
The big picture as I see it has Canopy holding the lead as a world class company and they have a critical piece of their puzzle Acreage locked up and secured for when the US Feds eliminate the fear mongering over cannabinoids.
That can happen several ways. Outright legislation to make pot legal for adult rec use, the safe banking act or combination of both. US established cannabinoid companies aren't waiting, including Acreage who have a CSE listing along with many others, in anticipation of the freeing of the green.
It could be a political plum, tossed out by candidates for 2020 elections. There are huge lobbying efforts being tabled for legalization and guys like John Boehner have done a complete 180 on Nixon's war on drugs. The times they are a-changing and Canada led the way with Canopy. Canopy has always had their eye on the States which is why they cinched the deal with Acreage.
I know it is frustrating to have a declining stock have a headlock on your money. I jumped in hard at where I thought the bottom was and right now I am down, but I still like the story and the deals were good all the way around, at the time. glta and dyodd
