Impressive, Most Impressive. QTMM has taught you well!

I have traced the history of Quantum Dot Physical Keys back to 2015 in this paper where it mentions both Quantum Dots and Quantum Wells for providing "unclonable" keys. I don't know who first thought of the concept, or who invented something and patented it, if they did, but the fact that you can go back 4 years shows many were working on it and its public knowledge.

Using Quantum Confinement to Uniquely Identify Devices

Quote:The confined energy levels are highly sensitive to the specific nanostructure within each RTD, resulting in a distinct tunnelling spectrum for every device, as they contain a unique and unpredictable structure that is presently impossible to clone.

Quote:Simulating these structures requires vast computing power and is not achievable on a reasonable timescale, even with a modest quantum computer. When coupled with the fact that the underlying structure is unknown, unless dismantled atom-by-atom, this makes simulation extremely difficult. Given the impracticality of copying the device at the atomic level, such technology would provide near guaranteed unclonability.
