Can someone explain to me what 'shareholders of record' means? I see this in the 10k and it says 56. Is their a certain percentage of stock you must own or hold for a certain time to be counted as a 'shareholder of record'?
I'm quite handy at using google but I could not turn up any specific definition that makes sense supporting this metric. I mean there are easily 20 some odd shareholders on this board alone. I wonder if I am not considered a 'shareholder of record' because I am using a retail broker and the broker is the 'shareholder'?
Are there really only 50 people holding this stock besides the board of directors? With 27M shares that would mean each 'shareholder of record' would be holding 500k shares on average. Well I think I've seen the highest number of shares owned by a person on this board is 200k or so.
Is it really all whales then that own this stock or am I misunderstanding?
