Credentials were given...

As a biological engineer, with a background in spider silk, she fits in very well with the culture of the Company and has already brought innovative ideas to streamline Kraig Labs’ R&D processes. Additionally, she possesses experience with sericulture and has implemented new procedures in the Company’s facility to ensure the continued production of the best quality fibers.

It's a leap to assume a male v. female issue with this PR. That is what is awful on so many levels.

The company did right by the employee if she requested not to have her name released to the public. It's not a matter of changing one's usernames easily. It's a matter of doing the right thing. Releasing her name to the public because shareholders and the public will want to know does not trump one's right to privacy. The fact the company respected those wishes is a "high integrity" move and will be perceived well by many. The PR, like every other PR, has the number for IR if anyone questions why the name was not revealed. Questioning why on a message board, without going to those who can actually provide an answer, is somewhat ineffective.

Many fail to understand yesterday's PR was more about the hiring of a biological engineer than it was about the name of the individual. IMO, both the company and the new hire are ok with that. The rest of the world should be, too.

Was this the massive PR the world was waiting on? Nope. It was one Mr. T felt appropriate to release. Here again, any who question the reasons behind it really should contact those who can provide better answers than the ones speculating on this message board.
