It might cost more or less depending on filings, delays, rewrites, retainer fees.

But he can get the other party to cover the costs per settlement..

Most high profile case attorneys do a (pre judgment) advance where they take the case(thinking they will win) and do not charge till the won the case.

Which they will demand reprimands for their client(themselves) usually they end up with 1/3 of the settlement.
