And this guy's whole argument seems to be that the company is fine if they can sell the franchises but if not, they're in big trouble because they don't have any cash.

First problem: WHY WOULD YOU TRY TO GO SHORT NOW? Are you confident that they won't be able to sell franchises?

Second Problem: If they can't sell franchises they're in trouble anyway. I think everyone here would concede that.
