T2- update as promised.

so i inquired about setting up around 130 vehicles with the fleetsafer software and hardware. He stated that for the software only version, it would run about $400/month for the service for the whole fleet, so around $4,800/year.

for the hardware dongle set up, it would be a 1 time fee of $60/unit ($7,800 total) and then same software cost as above.

I mentioned that i had done some research about the app before we spoke and that a company named On4 communications states that they own cognosense. i also mentioned that the same hardware from them was being pushed by On4 at a much much higher price than what he gave me. When i asked if they were owned by On4, he stated it was not his place to talk about it and that i can think of them as an investor and a "reselller". He did say that Cognosense is the company and that i would have no dealings with On4 at all throughout any part of the process.

interesting.... not sure it tells me everything i wanted to know or that everyone here wanted to know, but did give some good info. I am going to do a trial on the product and see how it goes. i am also doing a trial on the fleet version of Lifesaver (this would cost about $12,500/year for the fleet version- $8/month per device) to see how the two compare and ultimately make a decision which one to go with. So Fleetsafer is actually better form a cost standpoint than Lifesaver is. So if the product is as good or better, it looks like it will be the way to go. More updates to follow as i learn more about the two.
