The Constellation/Canopy/Acreage deal was a masterpiece put together by forward thinkers. Constellation for 4 Billion dollars got control of Canopy who have a very synergizing deal with Acreage locked and loaded, sighted in on dominating the US greenrush, which is going to be about all investors are going to have to look forward to as this lofty stock market reconciles itself after a phenomenally long run. There are Fed rules hanging over the greenrush such that you can be a cannabinoid company but you can't handle the product or as I choose to think, it is the proverbial, you can have your cake but you can't eat it. The situation is almost a purgatory for investors that want to participate in the US greenrush but do so at the risk of losing their investment, seizure of assets and criminal charges because the US Federal government won't move on fixing the legislation.
Acreage has relied heavily on State law protecting them and built a bona fide cannabinoid business that is showing a lot of potential. The Canopy deal was absolutely brilliant with Acreage to carry Canopy forward in its quest to be the leader of the greenrush worldwide and now that Constellation flexed its muscle, the whole deal is relying on the Feds. Keep in mind that there is a lot of money involved and a major US lobbyist named Boehner is doing his part, backed up by former Prime Minister of Canada, Brian Mulroney. It is just a matter of time before the will of the voter succeeds and legitimizes the whole greenspace.
I jumped in too soon with Acreage but it was Canopy profit which I restaked. I haven't written off Canopy either because when the States sorts out the Feds, they are still a company that will lead the pack. Linton put all of those parts together for success and Constellation is smart enough to make it work. The US greenrush could happen quicker than the normal speed of politics imho, because there is really no reason not to do it. glta and dyodd
