Tough question to answer. But there are choices and multiple possibilities. For example, if CVSI keeps it all in house it would most likely eat up any cash reserves as clinical trials are not cheap. The upside to this is if and when the drug gets FDA approval, all the money it would generate would go right back to CVSI.
Another option is to partner with someone and split the cost of the trials.. but also split the profits it generates. Not ideal but not a bad idea either.
Last would be the sad option of diluting the stock to pay for the trials. I dont see current management doing this myself, while it would be the easy way out it would NOT be popular with the shareholders. I believe they have a finger on the pulse out here somewhat, and know it would not be the right thing to do.
