Replying to my own post (I guess I need to get a life)…

In the table of revenues that I post each quarter, the most telling number to me is the Moving Average Growth Rate (column shaded green). This is simply an average of the revenue growth rate for the current and prior 3 quarters. It shows how much revenues expanded, or contracted over the prior 4 quarters. While the number itself is a useful gauge of progress, the trend in this number is of more interest to me.

If this growth rate is larger than the previous quarters calculation the business expanding if it is smaller business is contracting.

So, even though Q2 was only slightly better than Q1 in raw revenues, the rolling 4 quarter average shows that business improved.
