Here is the take:

No way Medtronic schedules an analyst call for Sept 24 and highlights a major announcment on SP robotic surgery to rival ISRG if they don't have something already in place..

If they announce a SP system, it can only be Titan or Virtual Incision (and
any others I might be forgetting). They could also announce a Multi-port (i.e. CMR). Let's face it, they have to get going as well on robotic surgery.

So let's say Medtronic says either
a. We've developed our own SP
b. We've acquired a SP platfrom (Titan Medical, Virtual Incision)
c. We've developed our own Multi Port platform (even though PR mentions SP)

All of that is excellent news for Titan as the DOMINOES HAVE BEGUN TO FALL. It will be of the UTMOST IMPORTANCE that JNJ comes out with their rebranding of the Ethicon Digital Surgery Division (ENOS) sometime after Sept. 24. Maybe mid OCt? At that point JNJ will announce their Digital surgery platform. They already have endoluminal to compete with ISRG (Auris is much better platfrom), they will need a Multi-port (verb) and a single port (titan) to compete. Let the bidding begin.

FYI, I can't believe that ISRG will let these guys just steal the keys to locking up SP robotic surgery for the next ten/twenty years, esp with the patents Titan holds. If they don't come in with a $15B offer, they would be foolish. After all, most of their future success will come from converting Multi-port procedures to Single port to help expand the "Moat"
