A company should not release news to react to share price, they should perform and the share price will follow.

At this point it all comes down to what is merging in, if it is what people think it will not matter where the price is, the stock will rocket north.

If it is something much less than what people expect it will retrace.

The action right now has been in line with prior consolidation periods and is not abnormal.
