In that article (from over 7 years ago), 4 layers were used to stop a "slow-moving .22 round".

The article then tries to compare the 4 layers to 33 layers in Kevlar. But that comparison is apples to oranges.

Kevlar stops much larger rounds at normal speeds.

As has been stated, the Army doesn't use .22 rounds for much of anything. They use 9mm for handguns, and .556 for ARs.

So the Army wouldn't even be interested in something that stopped a "slow-moving .22 round". To think that the article is about KBLB is ridiculous.
