Once everything is liquidated and cancellation of debt recorded, the escrow shares will in theory be cancelled. I say in theory in that their is really no incentive from the court and the now closed company to cancel them officially. Really. After a company goes belly up I don't think there is anyone to notify the exchanges officially that the shares are cancelled. They may sit in you account for a long time. I have had some escrow shares sit in my account for a few years until I called Schwab and told them to remove as I was tired looking at them.
