All the talk of "patent reform" assumes a lot.

* That VPLM owns patents that hold valuable technology.
* That someone in the world wants to or is already using that technology
* That VPLM can prove all of that in court.

People like to point at VirnetX as a comparable example to VPLM. However, there exists significant differences. Most importantly that VirnetX has an actual product and actual licensees, and real revenue, such things that come from running a real company. None of which VPLM has ever managed. In fact, VPLM doesn't even have an actual product, employees, etc.

VPLM is just a shell holding a patent troll, which is NOTHING that "patent reform" should be attempting to encourage nor protect.
