Yes, they sure would. Trump had previously threatened to 'uncouple' from China. Yesterday when the Chinese walked out of the negotiations is when Trump said he'd put a 10% tariff on 300 billion $ of Chinese imports. That's when the Chinese president made his statement in response. This was discussed on many major news channels last night. Democrats were pointing out that this is why trade wars are so dangerous. Trump says no problem, we can survive it better than they can. No matter what, the entire world will suffer if the 2 super powers uncouple. Who knows what Trump might say today. We saw our profits drop by over half and I knew there was likely going to be a sell off today. Warren Buffet has said investors don't like uncertainty, as was evidenced immediately after the 2 leaders went at it. I didn't post because I didn't want to stoke fear. But this morning's price behavior settled it for me, take profits relentlessly. I sincerely wish the best for everyone. But, until some positive news comes out on this situation I will sit and watch. I shouldn't be berated or mocked for that.
