the long term pumpers are so clueless they bash real ceo's like bezos and musk....they continue to innovate and made(make) their shareholders wealthy

always stick with real CEO's like Bezos and Musk visionarys that will be remembered and praised in history books

an early rendering of what is now called a brain-computer interface. sent to Hans Berger in 1938

Since the brain reacts to the typical implanted microelectrode array as a foreign object, the constitutive properties of the device (e.g. its materials, mechanical characteristics, shape and size) are all expected to determine the brains reactive response to some degree. in accord with biocompatibility considerations.

does not elicit significant deletorious biological responses to the material themselves.

appropriate materials include...silicon oxide...platinum...iridium...it is possible they produce deletorious responses.

it is necessary to probe a high density of neurons in neural networks with single-cell resolution and be able to simultaneously use different techniques, such as electrophysiological recordings and optogenetic intervention, while minimizing brain tissue damage.

Why not invest in some 1938 brain-computer stock. We can toxic finance this deep into the future of 2019..or whenever neuralink becomes a real thing.

What happened to google glass? People didnt want to be that deeply tied into their social media or was the resolution just extremely poor? This seemed like a good idea with real world application beyond social media and advertising like staring at exploded diagrams layed directly over the work piece for instance. I like that example since I seeded it into the mind of a man i do not know. And was featured in the google glass commercial with the example of using it for the maintenance of an air force jet engine. The same example I gave when he asked what (a vague concept under NDA) could be used for. Made me more confident that this was in fact the example I gave.

Who seeded the idea of SiNi brain implants first here? I believe it was ASHvsEVIL with a post on conjecture a device implanted into the brain to cook brain cancer could be made more bio-compatible with a SINI coating.

Not sure if I want whatever is responsible for the antimicrobial properties(ammonia?) across my blood brain barrier or metal oxide deposits.

As far as neuralink the internet is hijacked and trashed. I blame easy access by phone posters and capitalism asking themselves how they can turn a profit in cyberspace. I dont need this crossing my blood brain barrier either. The dichotomy of easily accessible information being used to eat worm holes into their brain with instagrams and soft pornography.

We've replaced our Henry Fords with Mark Zuckerbergs. to me thats the sign of the end of an empire. I dont think we could handle another economic pull back and safe guards have been put into place to prevent this.

Perhaps a more accessible device beyond a neuralink is a device in science fiction featured in Larry Niven's ring world as a "tasp"

the pleasure center of a person's brain is found and remotely stimulated

wireheading is the most addictive habit known (Louis Wu is the only given example of a recovered addict), and wireheads usually die from neglecting themselves in favour of the ceaseless pleasure. Wireheading is so powerful and easy that it becomes an evolutionary pressure, selecting against that portion of Known Space humanity without self-control.

Such experiments were actually conducted by James Olds and Peter Milner in the 1950s, first discovering the locations of such areas, and later showing extremes to which rats would go to obtain the stimulus again.
