Exactly, which is what I basically argued. Nothing happens overnight, things take time. When America, as most know it, was first inhabited by the Europeans, the Pilgrims, and Jamestownians traveled on foot, or horse. As time went on, better means of transport were developed, but they did not give up the old ways until other methods were tested and proven, and some, though a much less percentage still do use antiquated means of transport . The golden spike connecting the railroad, east to west in the late 1860's in Colorado, Henry Ford and the model T making automobiles affordable in the very early 1900's, the Wright brothers introducing flight to America(former bike shop owners) early 1900's.
