BREAKING NEWS: GBLX just handed over the product to Louisiana Agriculture today MONDAY!!!! 7 days from now it could be on shelves!!!!! If everything goes well we are on the shelves next week! BOOM! Louisiana's first #$%$ products are one step away from pharmacies, with final testing planned for this week. Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain, whose department oversees the therapeutic cannabis program, said if the product collected Monday from GB Sciences is free of contaminants, #$%$ could reach patients early next week. Strain said he's hopeful the testing will clear the product for release.

MORE BREAKING NEWS: ?For the first release, (the pharmacies) are all getting the same three formulations so we can see what takes off,? Mullens says. The first products being released are three tinctures, or extracts, that are meant to be dropped under the tongue. There?s a THC-rich tincture, a CBD-rich tincture, and a tincture with a 1:1 ratio of CBD and THC. LSU AgCenter is selling the products wholesale to pharmacies, which will set the market price. Mullens doesn?t know how much the nine pharmacies across the state intend to sell the tinctures for, but says LSU AgCenter has met with pharmacists to talk about keeping the product affordable for Louisiana residents because insurance won?t cover #$%$. Test results for the final product should be completed within seven business days, the agency says, though if there are issues with the sample, the testing process could be extended.

Note... John Davis, head of GB Sciences Louisiana, which was hired by LSU to spearhead the growing operation, said he’s confident the testing will not reveal any problems and that the product will be released in the coming days.

He anticipates between 5,000 and 10,000 patients will initially seek out the drug, though in the coming years he said he expects the state’s market to mature to between 100,000 and 150,000 patients. He said he will hold back some inventory initially to make sure he can replenish the supplies of pharmacies that run out.

“We’re confident the testing that’s being conducted will result in a release of the products,” Davis said. “All the final products are packaged, labeled and boxed and they’re ready to be delivered to the pharmacies.”
