Do you really think STZ will tank Canopy to get a cheaper price on a buyout? Everything they do from here on out will directly be a reflection on their ability to run any company. If they take Canopy down it will take them down too because they fired their scapegoat. I see it reflected in their share price dropping lately along with the canopy they are now managing. Big picture, spirits companies are down and cannabis is their competition STZ stands to win big over all IF they can move Canopy in an upward direction. I do not think they can afford to have it drop because it now reflects directly on them rather than WEED as a stand alone. If it were a different scenario and they were showing strength on their own, I would agree with you. I can not see them intentionally choosing that option now.
Granted the takeover only happens when US Fed legal goes ahead and that is moving at the speed of glaciation. Entertainment numbers have an ebb and flow anyway summer earnings are not reflected in this next financial report.
