This same thing has happened to me countless times on this and other stocks. I believe it is sometimes referred to as sniping. Much of it occurs by way of trafi d software specifically designed to keep a trader one step, one click, one trade up on a competitor.

Personally I neither use nor own such software but it has been used against me fairly frequently.

I did complain to finra and sec but you can guess what they ever did about it.


Even worse for retail is that we must compete against market makers who have the right to profit from participating in the very same market despite having exclusive rights to deeper information.
