"The Common Facility and SWIFT Centre are the same thing, no?"
Possibly, but I don't think so.
The original Tech City approval document in Feb 2018 referred to it as the "Common Facility Center building" and showed it on the Master Plan as two blocks with a narrow center connection (H-shaped). It was the only building on the master plan. The foundation stone for Tech City was laid on Feb 4 2018.
In July and August there were articles that described that AMTRON's Tech City was going to be increased/doubled in size. Adding the 140,000 sq ft Swift Centre would do that.
There was another foundation stone ceremony for the Swift Centre on August 11, 2018. Banners showed a rending of the Swift Centre which doesn't seem to fit the original H-shaped foundation shown.
In addition the updated Master Plan shows the original H-shaped building in a new location and what looks like another building on the eastern side of the site, west of to the green space. Poor quality photo so I am guessing somewhat. Connecting dots and smudges. Wish I could find a better copy.
Lastly, the Common Facility Center building contains facilities, offices and labs that will be shared by the Tech City tenants and incubation spaces. The Swift Centre is described as more of a job training center.
