To All, RE: Bundling

There's been speculation on this board, RB, etc. that EDIG may be negotiating contracts to "bundle" JBs with other products such as PCs. I'm not sure if this speculation of bundling contracts began with RP/FF or on these boards. (Anyone know for sure?) Either way, I now believe we are more likely to see consumer electronics companies bundling music subscriptions with MP3 players. IOW, the consumer electronics manufacturer will offer anyone who purchases a jukebox a free music subscription.

Specifically, I think we will see EDIG/DataPlay/EASTECH/Samsung/etc. DAPs bundled with a music subscription service, MusicNet or pressplay, for example.

In my mind, this helps to explain (at least in part) the continued delays with the Treo. It goes back to content availability (no surprises there!) The Treo release is being timed to coincide with the launch of the major subscription services, for the marketing of bundled products.

Any thoughts, anyone?
