Why would he buy these stores and then start selling them so soon? Strange.

Not strange. For ESL this buy-out of the Sears assets was never about just a retail endeavor..it was always about the commercial real estate and unlocking the value. Period.

Most, if not all, of the old Sears store locations have value far beyond what they would if they just continue to be "Sears" stores.
