To create a foundation for sustainable development, Dien Quang Cooperative actively cooperated with Quang Nam Silk JSC to expand the mulberry growing area to hundreds of hectares in the locality. At the end of 2018, Dien Quang Cooperative initially implemented 5ha of mulberry. Unlike the previous planting method, the cooperative advocates the planning of specialized mulberry cultivation, not intercropping with other crops such as vegetables, tobacco ... Cooperatives support to pump wells, pull electricity to pump water for mulberry growers . "For a few decades, now I have to raise silkworms, but I am very miserable but happy. Creating a cocoon must take a lot of effort but in return, to live with the profession for a long time, his father left it, is very happy! ”- Mrs. Tran Thi Bay - one of 12 households in Ben Den Tay village participated Pilot project to restore silkworm raising in Go Noi area shared.
Each acre of mulberry land, participating households are supported with seed money and 20kg of organic fertilizer. The hybrid variety GQ2 and S7CV were imported from the Central Mulberry Research Center. This is a high-yielding variety of mulberry (25 - 35 tons of leaves / ha), large, thick, can be grown year-round, high breeding coefficient ... Besides, the dual-breed silkworm breeds with a yield of 18 - 20 kg / egg ring ... also replaced for old cocoons. Quang Nam Silk Joint Stock Company also supported to expand, commit to consume cocoon products ... Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh said, silkworm cocoon products of the cooperative are currently priced at 120-150,000 VND / kg. In particular, the association with Quang Nam Silk Joint Stock Company not only successfully built the production value chain but also showed the prospect of successfully recovering the mulberry growing in the coming years.

Currently, the company has signed a contract with many corporations and silk associations around the world, with the hope that Vietnam will participate in the supply chain of raw materials for silk, for deep processing. When securing raw materials for silk, finding output, consumption market is not too difficult. In order to ensure a stable source of raw materials, the company is affiliated with Dien Quang Cooperative to pilot planting of mulberry in riverine alluvial areas. On that basis, the company will coordinate with farmers to expand the area of ??mulberry cultivation in many other localities in the province.
Recently, the provincial People's Committee granted a license to Than Ky Textile Co., Ltd under Kraig Biocraft Laboratories (KBL) - a US biotechnology specialist to deploy a transgenic silkworm breeding project Bombyx Mori with domestic silkworm breeds to create high-tech products for export. Accordingly, the company will invest in building a silk mulberry complex in Dai Hiep commune (Dai Loc) with an area of ??50ha and cooperating with other localities in the province to expand the area of ??mulberry farming to raise silkworms. 2,000ha; It is expected to settle jobs for 5,000 farmers participating in growing mulberry and growing silkworms according to the production chain (from mulberry growing, silkworm breeding, production of finished products, consumption ...) in the coming years.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Tri Thanh said that this is a good time to restore mulberry farming because the market is having good signals, especially with the participation of some businesses as well as the possibility of ability to connect with major corporations in the world in bringing export products. Local authorities will study policy mechanisms to expand the area of ??mulberry cultivation, create a stronger relationship between businesses and people, and support the search for domestic and international market connections.
