NO FLOODING AT HOLIAY ISLAND, ARKANSAS

As published frequently and nationally recently, many parts of Arkansas on, or near major rivers have been plagued by severe flooding due to heavy rainfall in last couple of months. The areas hit the hardest include Arkansas cities Fort Smith and Little Rock along the Arkansas River, and Memphis, Tennessee, and eastern Arkansas towns along the Mississippi River.

President Trump has declared these areas a national disaster, and released federal funds to help clean up and rebuild.

Fortunately, Holiday Island was not affected by these floods due to its location and elevation in the Ozark Mountains. Holiday Island is located in the Northwest corner of Arkansas in the Ozarks between two National Forests, and it is on the head waters of Table Rock Lake.

Table Rock is a 53,000 acre federal lake operated by the Army Corp of Engineers. The lake is fed by the White River which originates near Fayetteville, Arkansas (University of Arkansas), and it eventually dumps into the Mississippi River in Eastern Arkansas.

Because the Corp controls the water level at the dam located near Branson, Missouri (1 hour north of Holiday Island), and because Holiday Island’s elevation is above the dam, Holiday Island is protected from flooding by natural causes.

Also, not only does Holiday Island not flood, there are no earthquakes, or tornadoes here.

And, there is very low crime and low cost of living, making Holiday Island one of the safest and best places to live in the U. S.
