While watching an episode of TEDx Talks the topic was AI and how high speed computer machines are doing more than we realize.
One thing that really stood out is over 60% of all trades in the securities markets are executed by algorithms, not humans. These AI machines also found that when smog is high in major cities the markets will most likely have a down day due to the effect smog has on humans.
These AI machines that are trading securities constantly check conditions around the planet and use a baseline to see how these current events and conditions effect stock prices. Pretty much the same idea as how weather forecasting tracks current conditions and weather patterns to see how these things effect weather for the next hour, day, etc.
I now understand at least at an entry level how quantum computers process information so much faster than what our PCs and laptops are capable of.
I need a faster processor if I hope to stand a chance in trading...
