I think MANY have attempted to offer reasons for the lengthy process towards Spider Silk Commercialization. Spider Silk "production" in the lab, however, has been accomplished by various individuals using varying processes. The ever-elusive COMMERCIALIZATION on a mass scale is being attempted but, up until now, has not been accomplished.

I believe the answer to your assertion, "It has been a long road for kraig biocraft lab and no one here on the message board has stated the reason why," is actually being proffered to you through the insights and due diligence (DD) of the various members on the board.

My short answer for the lengthy process is simple: In order to ensure this "Holy Grail" Biotech product is able to reach commercialization and sustainability, a lot of moving parts need to be put in place JUST RIGHT.

That "JUST RIGHT" includes every aspect from the science in the lab, and the various processes and procedures required there, to the bringing the product to scale and EVERYTHING required there. Then sales, logistics, marketing, management, etc. after. Followed by the legal backing to protect all that was developed in the aforementioned procedures. Everything a BUSINESS requires to succeed at a mass level.
Not to mention the selection of essential personnel for the positions required along the way.

Just looking at Dr. Trevor Kane and what he accomplished prior to becoming our Chief Scientist. He was given the position as Chief Scientist because he not only worked in the lab but he worked on the lab. He developed protocols and SOP's required for KBLB to essentially become independent from a lab perspective.

All that took time. Not to mention what was required to become a business entity in Vietnam! That could take up (and has taken up) many posts itself.

All in all, the pieces had to be put together to ensure "all is not lost." KBLB has risen from a "developmental company" into a full-fledged multi-national company on the verge of BEING THE FIRST TO FULLY COMMERCIALIZE SPIDER SILK ON A MASS SCALE.

To think something of this magnitude could have been done in haste, is to miss the overall magnitude of what is being accomplished. NOBODY has been able to COMMERCIALIZE SPIDER SILK ON A SUSTAINABLE LEVEL. Not in the annals of history! But, KBLB will be the first.
